How to Cook Air Fryer Egg Rolls?
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil (with sprayer)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic (minced)
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger (minced)
- Kosher salt (as per taste)
- 2 fresh onions (chopped)
- 2 cups cabbage (chopped)
- 1/2 cup carrot (optional, shredded)
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 Ib ground pork
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Chinese spice
- Water (to close the wrappers)
What to Do?
Prepare Pork Mixture
Put garlic, pork, and ginger in a non-stick skillet and cook them until they turn light brown. Drain them and again put them into the skillet.
Prepare Sauce Mixture
Take a bowl and put sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and spices into it. Stir them well to mix thoroughly.
Mix Pork Mixture and Sauces
Pour the recently prepared sauce mixture onto the pork mixture and stir them without heating the skillet. Make sure that they are mixed well.
Add Chopped Ingredients to Sauce and Pork Mixture
Now add chopped carrot, cabbage, and chopped onion into the sauce and pork mixture. Stir the mixture well so that the whole ingredients combine well.
Cook the Mixture
Cook the whole mixture on normal heat until all the ingredients are melted and mixed well. It will take about 5 minutes to mix thoroughly. Remove the skillet from the heat and let it rest to get cool.
Stuff the Filling Mixture into Wrappers
Keep all the wrappers under a wet towel and take one by one out of it. Place a wrapper in front of you in such a way that one corner is pointing towards you. With the help of a spoon, fill the recently prepared mixture in it. Place the mixture in the center and don’t stuff too much mixture.
Fold the Egg Wrappers
Wet the corners of the egg roll with water to make them sticky. You may use your finger or a small brush for this purpose. Fold the wrapper in the following manner.
- Bend the bottom corner up over the mixture.
- Fold the left corner towards the right and the right corner towards the left onto the filling.
- Gently press the whole ends to set them well.
- Finally, fold the remaining upper corner towards down, wrapping it on all other folded corners.
- Repeat the same process for all wrappers and place them on an oil sprayed surface.
Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer ( and spray the basket with non-stick oil spray. Also, polish the sides of egg rolls with the oil and place them in the basket with the seam side down. Avoid overcrowding the basket.
Set the fryer temperature at 400°F and timer for 12 minutes. Start cooking the egg rolls. Flip them with the help of a fork, tongs, or spatula after half time is passed. Repeat the same cooking process for the whole rolls.
